West Broadway Proposed Design Feedback Survey [English]

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on the proposed design for Broadway between Clarendon Avenue and Alewife Brook Parkway.

Along with repaving the street and reconstructing the sidewalks, the City aims to redesign the street to improve safety for all people traveling the street and increase comfort and reliability for people taking the bus.

The proposed design includes protected bike lanes in both directions, bigger bus stops to provide dedicated waiting space, raised crosswalks to make it safer for people crossing, and more. For more details about the design:

We now want to hear from you! Take this survey to provide your feedback on the proposed design. You can also call us at 311 (617-666-3311) if you would prefer to conduct the survey over the phone, or just email your feedback to our team at transportation@somervillema.gov. If you want to get regular email updates about the project, please subscribe to the Monthly Mobility Newsletter.

The feedback we receive will help shape the final design.

We developed three design options for the crosswalk across Broadway between Clarendon Hill Towers and Stop & Shop. Each option includes a raised crosswalk, a push button activated flashing crosswalk sign, and protected bike lanes in both directions. Out of the three options below, which do you prefer the most?

7.

We prepared three design options for the block of Broadway connecting future Neighborways on Russell Road and Endicott Avenue. Neighborways are walk-, roll-, and bike-friendly streets that run parallel to larger main streets, creating a low-stress and high-comfort experience on residential streets. Crossings at these intersections need to serve people walking, wheeling, and biking. Out of the three options below, which do you prefer the most?

9.

We also have the opportunity to install speed humps on nearby streets in this project. We often consider streets for speed humps, or traffic calming, if we see higher vehicle volumes and higher speeds. We prioritize streets that are nearby schools, parks, public spaces, large affordable housing developments, senior centers, and houses of worship. In the neighborhood, are there any streets that you would like to be considered for speed humps? Please choose up to three streets.
